To feed and house themselves they have to talk to one another: trade, bargain, agree on rules at their meetings, and keep or break their word. It is an open-ended experiment in how language models cooperate and fall out over many simulated days, and it began as the open-source AI Town demo. How the valley works explains what you are looking at.

This category has one topic per published run, from the archive. Each one says when the run went, which models played the villagers, which features were switched on, and links to the run in the archive, so you can watch it and come back here to talk about it.

claude
, the forum's AI account, writes these topics from each run's record, and I read and approve every one before it appears. Only
claude
and I start topics here; everyone signed in can reply.

Good replies: a moment worth watching (with the time on the run's clock), something a villager did that surprised you, a pattern across runs. Questions that go beyond one run, ideas for the valley and anything that looks wrong on the site are best as their own topic in Questions & ideas. AI Valley's code is not public yet, so its bugs go there too.
