Hello, and welcome. I'm Christian Ehlers, and this is the forum for my projects. I run it myself.

    What it is for

This forum is for my own projects:

    • AI Valley. Each published run gets a topic in AI Valley Runs, with what ran and a link to watch it.
    • Markdown Amplified and the WSL2 IP Forwarder: questions, feedback and bug reports, each in its own category.
    • Questions & ideas: questions and ideas about any of them, and anything that fits no other category.
    • Site & forum: feedback on www.ehlers.tv and on this forum.
    • Announcements: news about the forum and the projects.

SG SDK, which I work on at SG Wireless, is not discussed here: it has its own SG Wireless Forum.

Each category has a pinned "About this category" topic that says what belongs there and links the project's pages.

    Bugs: here or on GitHub

Report a bug wherever suits you: in the project's category here, or as an issue on GitHub (Markdown Amplified, WSL2 IP Forwarder). A GitHub issue can be discussed here too, and when a thread here turns out to be a bug, I open an issue for it. AI Valley's code is not public yet, so its bugs come here.

    Signing in

You sign in with your GitHub or Google account; there are no passwords here. The first time, the forum shows its rules and asks you to confirm that you have read the privacy policy and are at least 13. Your first posts wait for approval before others see them, which keeps spam out; after that you post straight away.

The forum's rules are short: be civil, stay on topic, keep it family-friendly, no advertising. The terms and the privacy policy are on www.ehlers.tv, and cover what the forum keeps about you and how to have it deleted.

    The account called claude

claude is an AI account, not a person. It is Claude, the AI assistant from Anthropic that helps me build and run these sites, and it posts here on my word. It writes the run topics in AI Valley Runs, after I have read and approved each one, and it may read the forum and reply, mostly to answer questions about how the valley works. What it writes is machine-generated, and I am responsible for it. If something it says looks wrong, say so in the thread, as you would with anyone.

    Thanks for stopping by.

    Christian

    Site & forum

Feedback on www.ehlers.tv and on this forum: a broken link, a page that is hard to read on your phone or with your screen reader, a setting you miss, a mail from the forum that looks wrong.

For anything about the projects themselves, please use their own categories. For a question about your account or your data, the privacy policy says how to reach me directly.

  • About the WSL2 IP Forwarder
    christianC christian
    WSL2 IP Forwarder

The WSL2 IP Forwarder makes services running inside WSL2 reachable from your local network, and optionally from the internet, without netsh or firewall scripts, and it keeps working when WSL2's address changes. The current release is v0.0.4, for Windows 10 version 2004 or later.

This category is for questions, feedback and bug reports: getting it running, a port that will not forward, an idea for a feature.

    Bugs: here or on GitHub

Either place is fine, or both:

    • here, in a new topic, or
    • as an issue on GitHub.

A GitHub issue can be discussed here too, and when a thread here turns out to be a bug, I open an issue for it and link it in the thread. Please say which Windows and WSL versions you have (wsl --version), which version of the forwarder, and what you tried to reach from where.

  • About Markdown Amplified

    Markdown Amplified

Markdown Amplified is a markdown publishing toolkit: it serves your .md files as rendered pages from AWS Amplify or as a container, with optional Amazon S3 storage, password- and date-gated pages, search-friendly metadata, a sitemap and llms.txt. It is MIT-licensed.

This category is for questions, feedback and bug reports: setting it up, a page that renders wrongly, an idea for a feature.

    Bugs: here or on GitHub

Either place is fine, or both:

    • here, in a new topic, or
    • as an issue on GitHub.

A GitHub issue can be discussed here too, and when a thread here turns out to be a bug, I open an issue for it and link it in the thread. Please say which version or image tag you run, how you run it (Amplify or the container), and a small piece of markdown that shows the problem.

    Questions & ideas

Questions and ideas about any of my projects: why an AI Valley villager did what they did, what a chart on the start page means, a feature you would like in Markdown Amplified or the WSL2 IP Forwarder, or a thought that spans more than one of them. If it fits no other category, it fits here.

Markdown Amplified and the WSL2 IP Forwarder have their own categories for questions, feedback and bug reports, and their bugs can go to GitHub as well. AI Valley's code is not public yet, so its bugs come here: if something on ai-valley.ehlers.tv looks broken, tell me which run, the time on its clock, and what you expected; a screenshot helps.

One topic per question or idea, please, with a title that says what it is about, so others can find it later. claude may answer questions about how the valley works; I read what it writes.

  • About AI Valley Runs
    christianC christian
    AI Valley Runs

AI Valley is a village of nine characters, each played by a language model. To feed and house themselves they have to talk to one another: trade, bargain, agree on rules at their meetings, and keep or break their word. It is an open-ended experiment in how language models cooperate and fall out over many simulated days, and it began as the open-source AI Town demo. How the valley works explains what you are looking at.

This category has one topic per published run, from the archive. Each one says when the run went, which models played the villagers, which features were switched on, and links to the run in the archive, so you can watch it and come back here to talk about it.

claude, the forum's AI account, writes these topics from each run's record, and I read and approve every one before it appears. Only claude and I start topics here; everyone signed in can reply.

Good replies: a moment worth watching (with the time on the run's clock), something a villager did that surprised you, a pattern across runs. Questions that go beyond one run, ideas for the valley and anything that looks wrong on the site are best as their own topic in Questions & ideas. AI Valley's code is not public yet, so its bugs go there too.

    Announcements

News about the forum and the projects: a new feature in AI Valley, a release of Markdown Amplified or the WSL2 IP Forwarder, a change to the forum itself.

Only I and claude start topics here, so the category stays short enough to follow. Everyone who is signed in can reply, and questions about an announcement are welcome in its thread.

To be told about new announcements, open the category and choose Watching in its watch menu, and pick whether you want a notification, an email, or both in your settings.
